How the Tier-1 Autopilot play works

Tier-1 Autopilot uses the HubSpot Customer Agent to resolve routine support questions across chat and email, around the clock, while anything sensitive goes to a person with full context.

The problem

Support teams spend most of their day on the same handful of questions: logins, billing, setup and integrations. Complex customers wait behind password resets, response times slip, and the only lever left is hiring more reps.

How the play runs

  1. Audit the top 20 questions against your knowledge base, then fix outdated and missing articles
  2. Write handoff rules: billing disputes, bugs, strategic accounts and low-confidence answers go to people
  3. Run two weeks in review mode, where the agent drafts and reps approve, edit or reject
  4. Release category by category once each clears an accuracy bar against your human CSAT baseline
  5. Tune tone and routing by customer segment, then expand channels

What JayOh builds

Knowledge base rebuild, handoff and routing rules, a test set of real questions, help desk integration, credit caps and alerts, and a performance dashboard comparing the agent to your human baseline.

What we measure

  • Autonomous resolution rate
  • CSAT, agent vs. human
  • First response time
  • Cost per resolved ticket
  • Rep hours returned to complex work

Guardrail

Resolution rate is a knowledge problem, not a model problem. Thin or outdated articles mean confident wrong answers, so the knowledge audit comes before the agent goes live.

Tier-1 Autopilot FAQ

What is the HubSpot Customer Agent?

It's HubSpot's AI agent for support conversations. It answers customers on chat, email and other channels using your knowledge base and other content sources, and hands off to your team based on rules you set.

What resolution rate should we expect?

It depends on your question mix and the quality of your knowledge base. HubSpot reports strong averages across customers, but we measure yours during two weeks of review mode before committing to a number.

Will customers know they're talking to AI?

Yes. We configure the agent to identify itself, and customers can ask for a person at any time. That request is one of the default handoff rules.

How much does it cost?

The Customer Agent uses HubSpot Credits, roughly 50 credits per resolved conversation at October 2026 rates. We set a monthly credit cap and alerts during setup so cost can't run away.
