Price is only one column. Time to first output and coverage decide whether the money turns into a working system this quarter.
| Model | Typical cost | Annualized | Time to first output | Coverage | Biggest risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single in-house hire | $130K–$200K base | $170K–$260K loaded | 3–6 months to hire, then 2–3 months ramp | One skill set (admin, ops or strategy) | Single point of failure; leaves with the knowledge |
| In-house team (4–5) | ~$420K base payroll | ~$600K loaded | 6–9 months to staff | Broad | High fixed cost; slow to resize |
| Fractional consultant | $150–$300 / hour | $78K–$310K | 1–3 weeks | Senior strategy; limited build hours | Decisions without hands to execute them |
| Traditional agency | $8K–$30K+ / month or $15K–$150K projects | $96K–$360K+ | 2–6 weeks | Execution, often channel- or platform-specific | Account-manager layer; handoffs; scope creep |
| JayOh Growth Pod | $5K–$30K / month (Partner Plan) | $60K–$360K | First sprint after kickoff | Consultant + HubSpot, Salesforce, data and automation developers | Needs an internal decision-maker to set priorities |
Ranges are JayOh guidance for US-based B2B companies in 2026, drawn from our engagements and hiring work, not survey data. Loaded cost uses ~1.3× base salary for payroll taxes, benefits, equipment and software seats. JayOh pricing is the list on jayoh.io/pricing.
Four salaries become five line items once you add load and the integration work nobody on the team can do.
| Role | Base (illustrative) | Loaded (1.3×) |
|---|---|---|
| Head of RevOps / RevOps Manager | $150,000 | $195,000 |
| CRM administrator (HubSpot or Salesforce) | $95,000 | $123,500 |
| Marketing operations specialist | $85,000 | $110,500 |
| Data / BI analyst | $90,000 | $117,000 |
| Integration / developer contractorPart-time, for APIs and custom code | — | $55,000 |
| Total run-rate | $420,000 | $601,000 |
Illustrative US salaries; your market will differ. The point is structural: a team is a fixed cost that arrives slowly, while outsourced capacity is variable and starts in weeks.
Five models dominate. The one to avoid for ongoing work is open-ended hourly billing, because nobody can budget it.
| Model | How it works | Works well for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hourly (time & materials) | Billed after the fact at an hourly rate, typically $100–$300 | Small, unpredictable fixes | No ceiling; incentives reward slow work |
| Fixed-fee project | One price for a defined scope and deliverables | Implementations, audits, migrations with clear scope | Change orders once discovery finds the real mess |
| Monthly retainer | Fixed monthly fee for an agreed service level | Ongoing admin and optimization | Vague scope; unclear what the fee actually buys |
| Capacity pod (JayOh Partner Plan) | Reserve up to N hours a week of a multi-skill pod, worked in sprints | Continuous roadmaps across CRM, data, automation | Needs prioritization from your side each sprint |
| Bucket of hours | Prepaid block drawn down within a usage window | Scoped backlogs, trials, pre-renewal cleanup | Unused hours past the window |
Hours per week sets the price band. Complexity and deadline decide where in the band you land.
| Driver | Lower cost | Higher cost |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly volume of work | Under 10 hours a week; one backlog | 30–40+ hours a week; parallel workstreams |
| Platform | HubSpot Starter/Pro, standard objects | Salesforce with CPQ, custom Apex, Flows built by many admins |
| Connected systems | CRM + marketing automation | CRM + MAP + CPQ + billing + warehouse + enrichment |
| Data condition | Clean, deduplicated, owned fields | Duplicates, dead fields, no field history, conflicting sync rules |
| Deadline | Flexible roadmap | Contract renewal, carve-out TSA end date, board meeting |
| Scope type | Optimize what exists | Migration, re-architecture or post-acquisition consolidation |
| Internal owner | A decision-maker sets priorities weekly | No owner; the agency has to chase decisions |

Enter the hours of RevOps work you actually have each week. The calculator prices each model and shows the cost per hour of work you need done.
Defaults are illustrative JayOh planning assumptions, not quotes. In-house hires are counted in whole FTEs (one per 40 hours, minimum one). Fractional capacity assumes up to 20 hours a week per consultant. The full team uses the $601K run-rate from section 02 (plus $84K recruiting in year one). JayOh uses the smallest Partner Plan covering your hours; above 40 hours a week it adds Bronze-to-Black Diamond capacity and should be scoped on a call.
Ten questions that separate a capacity partner from a slide-deck vendor. Tick the ones a vendor has answered in writing.
JayOh answers all ten on the first call: one Pod Lead, capacity pricing on a public price list, a 24-hour SLA, every hour on a shared board, developers who build, and everything built in your systems.
Partner Plans from $5,000 a month buy a consultant plus HubSpot, Salesforce and data developers, on sprints, with everything built in your systems.
We engineer growth systems. JayOh builds the RevOps architecture, GTM execution and data infrastructure that turn messy revenue operations into predictable pipeline for B2B SaaS and PE-backed teams.
