01 · Background

Who is Joe LaGrutta?

An operator first. Joe spent years in-house holding a revenue system together before building the team he wished he had.

Before JayOh, Joe was the operator in the seat: the person keeping the revenue system running with workarounds and late nights. Agencies delivered decks, single hires could not cover every discipline, and nobody actually built the system.

Across high-growth SaaS and venture-backed companies he saw the same pattern. Some teams could generate demand. Some could operationalize revenue. Almost none could do both, and the ones that tried burned out their best operator.

In 2016 he founded JayOh to fix that: RevOps, demand generation and data engineering under one roof, staffed by operators who have carried a number themselves. Builders who stay and run what they build, organized in pods of a consultant plus developers working in sprints.

Ten years and 100+ engagements later, the idea is the same: own the outcome, engineer the system, and aim higher than the plan. Today JayOh calls itself the GTM engineering company, and Joe writes the guides on this site from that work.

Things Joe was done with:
  • Rebuilding the board deck at 11pm
  • Leads sitting unrouted for days
  • Defending numbers nobody trusted
  • Agencies that left a deck and a bill
  • Being the single point of failure
So he built JayOh.

05 · How he works

The operating principles behind JayOh

The unofficial slogan is shorter: get it done. These are the long version.

1Execution over talkMeasured by what shipped and what changed, not hours or slides.
2Systems drive scaleIf it only works when one person remembers, it does not work.
3Aim higherFast and correct, together. No accepting the trade-off.
4Own the outcomeThe pod owns the result, not the client and not “the team.”
5Stay hungry to learnEvery engagement adds to the playbook, and every client gets the latest version.

What’s in the name? JayOh stands for Just Aim Your Organization Higher. Put together, it comes down to one word: growth.
